Hudson Bar at Hudson Hotel

Incredible space taken straight from that ending scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Only missing the fetus-like organism enclosed in the light orb thingy. Ride the escalator bathed in Shrek-green light until you see a chandelier the size of a Volkswagen. Unfortunately marred by cheesy Euro-crowd, Heather Locklear doubles, and dudes with up-turned collars. Over-the-top design doesn't distract from rapid-fire imbibing. Nice nooks if you can grab one; those in the know escape to the veranda or library bar.
